Pluricentryczne i interkulturowe nauczanie w obszarze języków obcych oraz języka polskiego i historii z możliwością na wyrównanie szans edukacyjnych.
Start date: Dec 31, 2014, End date: Dec 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Evangelical Lutheran Secondary School in Cieszyn, Poland is located far away from major educational centers. The youth studying in our school are ambitious but in comparison with the youth from larger cities, they show some characteristics of reserve, which reduces their effectiveness in the global labor market. The aim of the project is to obtain a higher level of competency for our students through teaching by increasingly qualified, currently-updated and open-minded teaching staff. Knowledge and application of new teaching methods will promote the attractiveness of classes in designated areas such as languages and culture. Teachers will familiarize students with the country and culture of a foreign language. The use of innovative methods will also increase the students’ motivation to learn, not just one but also a second and a third target language, thus ultimately enhancing their chances on the labor market. Exposure to a foreign language, its country of origin and its inhabitants enables the break down of stereotypes in regard to certain countries and languages and further develop of positive patterns and associations. Participation in the project was declared by five teachers of the humanities: three teachers of modern languages- German, French and Spanish, one Polish language teacher and one teacher of history. Their participation in the project will allow them to participate in courses, seminars, trainings, conferences and workshops on various topics concerning teaching methods. The above mentioned activities will allow the project’ participants to improve their language skills, and familiarize them with the latest methodological and substantive issues. They will also learn modern information technology. These projects also will significantly enhance the personal intercultural awareness of the teaching language country. The participants will have an opportunity to exchange educational experiences with other teachers from abroad. In summary, participation in this project will increase the attractiveness of lessons through an innovative approach to teaching methods and learning. It will help the teachers enrich and update intercultural issues. Students will be given the knowledge about the country of language origin its culture and history. The project further offers an extension of online educational courses on the platform of the school. Project’s results will be disseminated among the local community through thematic meetings addressed to preschoolers, parents of students and also the seniors community.
