Plant your seeds! Community gardens and civil society in Europe
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Aug 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

In May 2015, the European project “Plant your seeds” will take place in Berlin for one week. This French-German-Bosnian-Italian exchange project was initiated by the organisations Centre Français de Berlin in Berlin, Une Terre Culturelle in Marseille, AltroModo Flegreo in Neapel and Neocor in Sarajevo. It aims at gathering about 30 people who are involved in urban gardening projects in these four countries and who work as multiplicators among children and youths, and offering them a possibility to improve their skills in the field of environmental education for young people. This project will mainly focus on the question how gardens can become attractive places for younger generations and have a sustainable influence on their way of living. The intercultural group will take part in different workshops, mostly in intercultural gardens in Berlin, and experiment and discuss numerous methods and approaches to youth environmental education. Moreover, the participants of this project will discover the city of Berlin from a green point of view, get effectively involved in the city and district life during public events and come into contact with children and other inhabitants. This project will give them the opportunity to build up an international network, discover new projects and get new ideas, access innovative methods and materials and get closer to the common purpose: reinfusing children and youth with enthusiasm towards gardening and nature and promoting the related skills.
