High school has a critical role for students to obtain the abilities they need when they are adults, to support to community they belong to, to have valuable jobs, and to be productive members of the community. According to the Early School Leaving(ESL) report by Minister of Education in 2013; academic achievement and motivation of students, absenteeism, academic failure, unawareness of families towards education and school, the economic and social background of families, the students’ negative attitudes to school, being less trustful to school, having friends with bad behaviors and early marriages are the reasons for ESL.2015/20120 Strategic Planning of our school involves ESL problem and measurements to reduce it as the ESL rate in our school has been increased for various reasons. Strategic Plan Preparing Team attempts to cooperate with some local authorities but they cannot get concrete results. Therefore SPPT decided to get support with an international Project. First, all the teachers in the school are informed about the situation. Then a EU Project team is formed involving volunteer teachers. EU Project team present the KA2 Strategic partner school Project, which aims to reduce ESL, to Turkey NA in 2015, however this Project was not approved because lack of butget. EU project team, which still continues the studies of reducing ESL, decided to prepare KA1 School Training Project to solve the problem. Firstly, a study of the needs analysis is conducted. The Project is planned after revising reports both from SPPT interviewing with23 students who left school early, and from 2013 Ministry of Education ESL reports. Therefore it is aimed to form three units in school; these are:CAREER PLANNING AN TRACING CENTER: It will serve students from the start to end of the school. This unit, which help students to think more creatively, provide students to get the relation between their academic achievements and their future plans.THE COACH MODEL: ıt aims to solve students’ problems with their friends, families, and social environment by individual guidance and reduce the absenteeism.PARENT SCHOOL: it aims to strengthen the family. There will be traings in 6 different topics for each academic years for the families of students with ESL risks. We need our teachers to get the necessary skills and qualities so that these units reach its goals in our Project.The aims of the Project:To improve the skills and qualities of teachers who will be responsible for the units we form in Project.To increase the students’ academic achievements and reduce absenteeismTo provide a school atmosphere in which students / teachers will be more willing to learn/teachTo strengthen the e families, the landmarks of the societyTo enable students to continue their and help them be qualified members of the societyTo reduce the ESL rates in our city nearly 2%in three years with the dissemination.PROJECT PARTICIPANTS: There will be 18 participants. We plan to organize three motilities; 6 teachers to Germany, 6 teachers to Portugal, and 6 teachers to Netherland. These teachers will be decided on the criteria (stated before on pg12) among the teachers who are responsible for the units. Also, these teachers will share their experience and information with other teachers in school.With these trainings teachers :- in Germany will get Career Planning Training,- in Portugal will have the necessary skills and qualities to be The Coach,- in Holland will have the necessary skills qualities and materials they need in Parent School.The expected outcomes of the Project:-There will be awareness about the necessity and importance of the education,-Students will improve their self-confidence, motivation and interest to learning activities,-Students will have positive attitudes to school,-Participants will share their information and experiences with each other and be aware of being a EU citizen,-Participants will improve their abilities both in their jobs and communication,-Parents will have more active role in education,-Parents and students will have better communication,-Education will be more effective and efficient with the help of more motivated families, students and teachers,-Students’ academic achivements will improve,-There will be awareness in society about reducing ESL,-Other educational authorities will form similar systems in their own schools.
