Più lingue più culture
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project is a teaching approach that our institution introduced us as an important education element for some of its educators staff. In order to perfect our scholastic institution, by building up its pro-European attitude, to this aim we want to promote the idea of Lifelong Learning as something that have to be part of our teachers competences. Improving foreign language teachers abilities, as the multiethnic characteristics of our institution, will be a great investment to pursue A-levels in linguistic training of our italian and foreign students, and it will also facilitate the integration of different cultures in our society. The typical educational system of our region, which has always made an effort trying to help foreigners and disadvantaged students, wants now to give them better possibilities for their life. This is what this project "More Languages, more cultures" is made for. The use of the plural purposely shows how students are already surrounded by plurilingualism in our school. Our group of four teachers, is happily joining this training project, in order to improve our own linguistic knowledges, our methodological teaching strategies and our use of technologies in the making of materials useful for the daily teaching. Our institution takes care of the different linguistic and educational needs of our citizens that are now "european citizeness". The solution to this demand is in a good and early second language's teaching and the use of a foreign language also in teaching other subjects as the main topic. Therefore our training project, will improve its teachers and students qualitative standards by focusing on the Recommendation of the European Parliament concerning to the Lifelong Learinig skills. (2006/962/CE) In this document the use of foreign languages is one of the eight most important skills through which students deepen their knowledges and also get to know different cultures. If we want to focus on students and on the possibilities school offers to them, a renovation of our teachers' skills it's extremely important. They have to be able to propose new educational and didactic activities suitable to an european dimension and intercultural education. The final evaluation and the outcome of our project will be showed in the next year's analysis of educational techniques and methodologies used by teachers in their classrooms. The results of the learned skills of students, achieved also by the collaboration of our colleagues through a kind of action-research, could help the whole scholastic institution to give truly important knowledges to the students who will be taking an advantage of it also outside of their countries.
