The implementation of the development plan involves participation of 8 teachers for either job-shadowing experience at our partner schools in Portugal and in Poland or attendance of training courses organized by various organizations in countries such as Spain, England during the next two years.
Eight teachers of various disciplines will participate to the present activities plan. They all speak English fluently and have a certification level one (basic knowledge) in computers usage. They have obtained either an MSc or a PhD degree and they have experience in implementing European projects. They wish to reclaim modern computer equipment available in our school and looking for ways to further training. Basic ambition and objective of them is to enhance students' motivation for learning, skills development and socialization.
Teachers participating in the program will be able to receive training and improve theirteaching skills. They will adopt new, modern and innovative teaching methods using ICT, significantly enhancing students' interest. They will approach new, modern and innovative teaching methods (individualized and group cooperation teaching) using ICT in teaching. Hence, they will greatly enhance student interest and utilize the existing ICT facilities. Particularly crucial to the plan is job-shadowing program, as participants in person will be able to evaluate the effectiveness of the innovative methods application. Furthermore, they will enhance communication and collaborative skills as they will come in contact with colleagues from the rest of Europe and will lay the groundwork for future collaborations and exchanges. They will get to know the countries they visit, their culture and their people, their economy, their educational system and job opportunities strengthening the common European conscience and the spirit of internationalism. Moreover, they will enrich their knowledge on the use of eTwinning in developing educational partnerships. In this way they will develop an experience in this activity which will lead to a more active participation in European collaborative projects undertaken by the school unit.
The benefits of this development plan will be judged through the process of school self-evaluation. Teaching will be enriched with new methods and hence school performance will be improved and learning disparities will be eliminated. The impact of the training activities will spread through a comprehensive plan which will include: implementation of teaching scenarios, exemplary teaching in our school as well as in other school of our area, posting all the produced educational material to social media and the program website.
