Période de Formation en Entreprise d'Hôtellerie-Restauration de l'Union Européenne
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Two types of students, aged from 16 to 19, will be targeted by the “mobilities” : - those who are in the second year of their “hospitality and catering” diploma (BAC technologique) and who are studying in either the Spanish or the English European sections. - those who are in the second or final year of their “hospitality and catering” vocational diploma (specializing either in cooking or in restaurant skills) (BAC professionnel) and who are part of, or not, the Spanish European section. The vocational college “Antonin Carême” has at present one “hospitality and catering” section “BAC technologique” (which has 20 students at each level of study - first, second and final year) and three classes in the “hospitality and catering” vocational section “BAC professionnel” (each having 20 students at each level of study). We intend to have 4 “mobility” periods per year : 2 in Spain and Great Britain and 2 in Great Britain exclusively. So, we ask for 72 student mobilities. As our pupils are under 18, we also ask for 24 "personnel learning abroad mobilities" to set them in the firms and realise the assessments at the end of the training periods. The students will be placed, whether it is in Britain or in Spain, in hospitality related work placements that are often affiliated to international chains. The students will become fully integrated members of the kitchen and restaurant staff and will carry out tasks related to the work of a typical commis chef or commis waiter. Our partnership with the college of Alcala is in construction. Theaim is to build a commune pedagogic project usefull for the students and for the teachers. For all beneficiaries these “mobilities” are about developing multiple skills and qualities which can be summed up as follows; -developing the linguistic skills that are essential in the hospitality industry. - improving the employablilty of our students. - developing autonomy, adaptability and the transfer of skills. -enriching, in a humane and cultural way, a public that does not normally desire to discover or even accept differences. - inspire our students to want a “Europe” and to be part of the European project - For the vocational students (BAC professionnel) we can add that the “mobility” gives more meaning to the teaching of foreign languages and core subjects in general. It helps to draw in and interest students who no longer want to be in the educational system. The desired results concerning the partnership are ; - the strengthening of relations between the overseas work placements and the partnering school. - the discovery of new establishments which we would hope would become future partners. - the exchange of practice which will enable us to optimize our performance regarding “mobilities” and the education of our students. To achieve these objectives we will rely once again on the implementation of a time-tested organization that has already carried out 20 years of European “mobilities” in our college.Nominating coordinators will also help to ensure the harmonization of practice and the coordination of the different aspects of each “mobility” project.
