PERFECCIONAMIENTO DE LA EVALUACIÓN Y LA CERTIFICACIÓN DE LENGUAS SEGÚN EL MARCO COMÚN EUROPEO. ACTUALIZACIÓN DE LAS COMPETENCIAS LINGÜÍSTICAS Y CULTURALES.
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project responds to the desire to fulfill the learning needs of teachers specialised in the teaching, assessment and certification of languages. In order to do this, eight out of seventeen teachers from the school language departments will be devoted to being trained in the detected needs and spread the acquired competences among the school faculty. This project is intended as a starting point for future projects and collaboration with teachers abroad. The scheduled activities, which will be carried out throughout two years, include courses organised by institutions reputed for being a reference in their fields and cater for the two lines of detected training needs: on the one hand, the training in the design, creation and assessment of certification exams of languages according to the Common European Framework for Languages and, on the other hand, the update in linguistic and cultural aspects of the languages taught in the School. Once the Schools training needs were analized, the main institutions whose expertise in the teaching of those fields were chosen and, in particular, the courses related to our training needs. Next, the teacher selecction process was designed so that those teachers would spread the training results among the members of the other departments. The two lines of the project will be directly applied to the daily work at the School, since they will imply an improvement of the quality not only of its teaching tasks but also as relates to its role of spreading the culture of other countries and of assessing the students' performance. The expected results intend to transform the School into a model for similar institutions (Teacher Training Centres, other schools of languages, the Education Authorities, etc.) and they will improve the faculty's professional competences, having in mind that it is the students that will benefit from our improved teaching and assessing skills. Among those students are those who work as teachers in bilingual schools in the area. Once those needs are catered for, the final purpose of the School would be to go deeper in the observation and exchange of experiences with similar foreign schools through KA1 and KA2 projects in the future.
