Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Szentendrei Református Gimnázium has been operating for 14 years and since then it has been expanding and developing. The growing number of students and staff have posed a challenge to work on new means and feasible solutions. The knowledge and experinece of our national and international partners give a considerable opportunity to improve our institution. Our objective is to mainatain the improvement of or teachers' professional skills by cooperation of schools and courses. To know how to implement new methods which are closer to meet the needs of students, to bridge the digital gap between students and teachers are obviously necessary. To plan, maintain and build further ties with schools from Europe can serve the successful realization of the above mentioned goals. The bilateral Comenius School Partnership with our Dutch twin school has been going on for eight years now and fostered numerous innovations at our school and furthermore spotted our areas needing improvement in art teaching, school management, applying ICT tools in teaching and planning projects. Targeted job shadowing activities are planned to help the mentioned areas. Maintaining our international relations have been a responsibility of the language teachers. The experience that these relations can work much more effectively if teachers of subjects other than languages can be involved was also gained in the Netherlands. The insufficiency of language skills and confidence of teachers have proved an obstacle to that. Here we need access to valuable resources to show improvement. That is why 10 colleagues with minimum A2-B1 level of language skills and 3 colleagues with B2 level of language skills are planned to be improved at language course in England an Ireland. At their selection granting opportunity to at least one representative of each school subject area should be considered. Further 4 colleagues teaching languages are designed to enrich their professional repertoire by completing methodology courses in the summer in international environment. All three fields of activity enables the participants besides getting acquainted with new pedagogical methods and improving their motivation to get to know and regularly use new ICT tools and applications used in teaching and can foster the creation of web2 and e-learning tools tailored for the needs of our school. To acclaim and record the acquired skills and knowledge with self-assessment methods the Europass CV, the language passport and the mobility certificate supplement will be used. In addition the school management will award credit points for their work to participants as part of the mandatory education scheme. The process of the implementation of the project will be continuously monitored with various evaluation methods such as interviews, self-assessment questionnaires, online feedback to ensure the realization as closely according to the plan as possible and the more efficient design of forthcoming projects. The experience gained in the this project wil be applied in designing the tasks to be done together with some of the eight schools we met in Comenius School Partnerships and our twin schools in Transylvania.
