Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

As a result of the analysis of the need of development of our institution we identified the areas which needed improving with a view to enhancing the quality of services provided by our school in terms of education. The main aspects which represent low points were the managerial abilities of the teaching staff (management of communication); the necessity to improve the abilities to use the latest technology; enhancing the European dimension of the organization. All these aspects led to a common cause, which was the lack of knowledge and technical abilities in using the ICT technology when teaching, presenting, accessing and assessing scientific contents in each school subject. A major investment in this direction brought benefits to the institution, since the improved areas apply on a general level throughout all domains of the educational activity, the main target being that of providing a modern perspective and of a clear practical view of the educational process, having major effects on enhancing quality. Objectives: - Getting familiarized with the concept of e- learning and ITC ; - Creating the ability to use Office suite; - creating a portfolio of potentially educational e- learning instruments; Number and profile of participants In the training courses a number of 9 participants were involved, selected according to the following criteria: - the need of training courses in the area of digital competence and new technologies; - the level of competence they have in the area of the training course; - the ability to speak English (B1 level); - the availability to get involved in additional working activities as a volunteer in order to achieve diverse actions meant to disseminate and implement the information acquired in training stages; Description of the activities On return from the training sessions, the teachers initiated job shadowing partnerships within our institution, guiding activities, by monitoring the teaching activities of colleagues interested in implementing the latest IT technique into their own educational strategy, communication sessions within the Teachers council meant to disseminate the acquired information. Impact The impact caused by participating in European training courses on the topic of the latest technology in communication was noticed mainly in the target groups: in the students and teachers of our school. Our institution became more visible on European level by keeping in touch with participants from other countries, given the possibility to create new partnerships, of virtual projects via e Twinning, by exchanging data with the participants from other countries. Furthermore it increased popularity locally within the students who chose to attend courses in our school and to benefit from modern educational methods. Long term benefits - the quality and the amount of cooperation among the staff , as well as teacher-student educational relationship were improved, - teachers were made responsible by operative involvement in the institutional development plan for the quality of education - in the the consolidation of our school's contribution in the innovative process of education - students were made responsible by getting them involved in interactive educational activities - students benefited from educational innovative practices, becoming themselves an important resource in their further promoting - the intercultural dialogue among teachers within the European area was also improved by initiating eTwinning partnerships - due to the European amplitude of the implemented development strategy, the amount of cooperation between our institution and European universities increased , thus the students choosing to attend courses in such universities will integrate naturally within their educational standards.
