Pédagogie de la couleur bleue, fait social européen
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The teachers at the Zacharie LAFAGE school in Cahors (FRANCE) have expressed their needs for training in certain artistic practices and the history of arts, so as to qualitatively respond more effectively to the demands of educational programmes in these spheres, and to carry out in the best way possible objectives assigned to them within the structure of the Comenius REGIO project, conducted by the town of Cahors in partnership with Bologna (ITALY) The proposition for training in the Association "Paysage et patrimoine sans frontière" entitled "Pédagogie de la couleur bleue comme fait social européen, entre littérature, arts et sciences" essentially responds to the needs expressed and proposes a methodology which seems adaptable to other fields of activity. The 4 participants from the school, all of them involved in the REGIO project, are school teachers, in cycle 3 of nursery school. Apart from level-raising or acquisition of new skills, the teachers involved will have as their aims: -to integrate the transversality of apprenticeships into their teaching methods which will in this way gain in coherence and be more attractive for pupils -to make education in European citizenship one of the axes of its transversal activities - to rely on the environment to show their pupils the strong presence of the colour blue near their homes before discovering similarities elsewhere in Europe -to develop team-work as a generator of synergies and reciprocal enhancement These objectives will be attained through the setting up of the following activities: -constitution of a catalogue of works corresponding to different historic periods - choice of European works focussed on blue through classroom work from artistic and historic aspects -the colour blue in language - gardens and tinctorial plants -pastel : blue in the Midi Pyrenees region. Visit to Albi in theTarn, historic pastel region -education in European citizenship, by demonstrating that blue is universally present and often has a strong symbolic action - Giotto's blue in relation to the Quercynois prelate Bertrando de Pogetto, promoted to governor of Bologna in the Middle Ages by his uncle the Cadurcian pope Jean XXII This methodology is inspired by syllogism (observation- theorisation-generalisation), by playing a large part in the transversality of apprenticeships and team work. On behalf of our teachers, we are thus basing our hopes of a greater coherence using these methods, perceptible by pupils, who should therefore show more interest in lessons. The success of this project could enable us to go further than the blue concept by using this methodology in other themes, such as heritage, literature, the sciences... The gain in attractivity expected through our teaching methods should be useful in offering to those pupils in a situation of academic disinterest the means of restoring confidence and understanding that theoretical teaching comes from real observation.
