Pedagogics and curriculum aspects of using common international inheritage and in cross subject learning

Context/background of project: Fusa vgs has for years been striving to strengthen the international perspective on our work. Being aware of our European heritage and cultural relations, Fusa vgs now looks to England and London for improving our education in art, design and general subjects. The British has for long influenced our culture and way of living in various matters. We also think that London, beeing a meltingpot of cultures, also can show us on how to ensure including and adaptive teaching. Objectives of our project: • improving our management and guiding procedures to provide a personalized angle in the counseling • strengthening the professional qualities in the different subjects; both the art design and the general subjects • getting updated on the latest research and development in science and humanistic/literature • achieving a higher degree of interdisciplinary cooperation and teaching in the various study programs Number and profile of participants: Involved in the spesific mobilities are 12 teachers (bachelors /masters) of art, design and general subjects in humanoria and science and 6 school leaders and concellors. But the staff involved will in fact be almost the dobble. Description of activities: Preparatry work shops at home before doing mobilities with varuious courses and visiting relevant institutions / partners. Reports and implementation activities like carrying out at least one interdisciplinary project inspired by the mobility; provide draft for interdisciplinary teaching in other study programs at Fusa vgs and give reports ti their county faculty teams (FAU). Fusa vgs will also share information of the results to our county administration and fellow schools. Methodology to be use in carrying out the project: The idea of interdisciplinary teaching demands an including way of organizing this project, and all participants is supposed to go into teams, participating in our learning organization. Short description of the results and impact envisaged: The partcipants and the management are supposed to bring a holistic approach and i way of thinking into their work. The various teams are to develop manuals for interdisciplinary teaching and for how to keep the learner on track once enrolled at Fusa vgs. Potential longer term benefits: Fusa vidargåande skule thinks that in the long term, an holistic approach and acting in all parts of our organisation, will provide quality education in inspiering learning environment, and that this will reduce drop outs and increase the learning outcome.
