PARENTS FOR DISABLED PEOPLE – Parents: training most powerful supporters and guiders of disable people

The PARENTS FOR DISABLED PEOPLE project aims at integrating disable people in all areas of life and especially in school and work place. In order to reach this aim the project will primarily involve parents of disabled in the process of integration. The main idea of the project is therefore to train parents as support trainers of their own children because most motivated for success and because having the best conditions and opportunities. In order to give them the necessary tools and knowledge to play this role the project will develop didactic methodology and tools and train parents for tutors. In order to enhance integration possibility, it will also train the teachers, train employers for tutors and monitor the tutors’work with disabled. The main results expected from the project are a tutoring system, curriculum for trainers and for parents/employers, teaching materials, pilot courses. The results will be presented at national and international level in a form of handbooks and teaching materials on CD. Valorisation activities will be represented by the pilot training for smaller groups of parents, by the organisation of conferences and workshops at national level and by the presentation of the final report to the responsible institutions in all member states of the team project. Target groups are represented by disabled people and by people that work with disabled.
