Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Kemin lyseon lukio, located in the North of Finland, is a senior secondary school with 400 students and 26 teachers. With Erasmus+ we aim to provide for our teachers in foreign languages and psychology qualified supplemented education. Three teachers will take part in these activities. There are four different activities within the project. Two of the activities include participation in supplemented education in French and on Iceland. One activity is participating in an international conference and one activity includes job shadowing/observation in Spain. The new national curriculum for senior secondary schools will lay more emphasis on internationalizing and the activities of the project will be necessary to reinforce the strategy to the level required in the 2016 curriculum. The activities carried out within the project will increase the teaching staff’s knowledge in teaching in languages and psychlogy. It will also improve the ablility to work in a high-quality international environment with foreign colleagues. This, in turn, will lead to improved quality in teaching and enhance job satisfaction and well-being in general. On the other hand, student’s knowledge of international affairs and their experiences in an international environment will increase, and ultimaltely that will have a positive effect on their learning and achievements. They will grow more tolerant and active citizens.
