Rural road construction is contributing to a more efficient use of public transportation and to the development of rural economy in general. This project is a result of a directed effort to create a partnership in collaborating for seeking solutions to common economic needs, make use of local business opportunities and local employment resources, in order to create new jobs and reduce poverty. The road will provide new links offered by particular transporters from the region on the new routes. The emergency services will have better access to the population in the region. On better roads the car's fuel efficiency will improve, saving money and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, beside that the costs with reparation of the cars will be lower. The construction of rural roads will provide good traffic environment.The general objective of the project is improving the cross-border rural roads for better transport of people and goods and easier access.Target groups (direct beneficiaries): population of two villages will benefit directly from the partner benefits of the project, a total of 3228 people (in the village of Pir total of 1780 persons in the three localities: Pir, Pir New Sărvăzel and 1448 inhabitants in Szatmárcseke) that will have better access to the regional economy, education, services, labour market and will benefit from: reduced time on the road and from new links to others, better integration; SMEs from the area that will have a new incentive to invest here on the basis of the level and quality of infrastructure (100); institutions which implement the project (Local Government Szatmárcseke and Village Hall Pir); transport operators which could find new routes to cover these communes (11).The main specific activities of the project are: implementing the project by preparing the construction of the road. Among project results: 1 feasibility study, 1 plan for designing the construction of the roads, 1 technical plan for solutions concerning rainfall along the road (sewer), 6200 m the total length of the rural infrastructure to be improved in Pir, Romania, 10 streets to be improved in Szatmarcseke, Hungary.
