Overall objective(s): Mitigate flood waves along the Hungarian-Ukrainian border section of the Tisza River, preliminary planning activities for the revitalization of the floodplains. Specific objective: Create emergency reservoirs on the Vásárosnamény – Visk section of the Tisza, and integrate the existing reservoirs. The establishments of the planned emergency reservoirs and the attached hydrological floodplain revitalization targeted development present the opportunity for improved water management and water detention. Main activities: Expert analysis; Geodesic surveys, aerial photography; Impact assessment; Modelling; Technical designing; Equipment purchase. Expected Results: Joint effort to create a methodology for processing and calculating the parameters for design flood level along the Hungarian-Ukrainian river sections. Arial photography along the Visk-Vásárosnamény section. Preliminary hydrological and hydraulic modelling / 1D 2D simulation, small-scale physical modelling. Joint Hungarian-Ukrainian concept study NaTúra 2000 impact assessment. Preliminary and detailed environmental impact assessment. Preliminary archaeological survey. Preliminary landscape history and landscape usage study. Draft technical designs for the Tisza-Szamos-Túr spillway and for the floodplain-revitalization system, with attention to the EU Directives concerning flood risk management 2007/60 and related to the 2000/60 Water Framework Directive. Based on the discussed and finalized draft plans to plan the attachment of regional and country development plans, etc.
