Pan European Vocational Development Programme
Start date: Jan 1, 2015, End date: Dec 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Pan European Vocation Development Programme involves 3 staff mobilities to three partner countries, each with a different vocational sector focus. Each mobility will involve four staff (twelve in total) and will entail a four day programme of staff training and work-shadowing. This project will focus on the following vocational sectors: - Marine Engineering and Boat Building at Kuressaare Ametikool in Estonia - Tourism and Hospitality at Antalya Olgunlasma Enstitusu in Turkey - Sport and Leisure Services at Liceul Tehnologic PETROL in Romania. Each chosen project partner has strong links with employers and expertise in these specific sectors. Each mobility will provide a short but intensive programme of work shadowing and observation activities to detail teaching methodology, industry standards and vocational training delivery in other EU countries, sharing best practices and mutually enhancing teaching provision. Each aspect of the project has been carefully planned to meet specific sector areas that are key growth sectors and that are facing skills shortages locally and to broaden staff understanding of the practices and training systems in the vocational areas targeted in each mobility. Each mobility is also designed to prove an introduction to new and comparative approaches to work based learning, employer engagement and partnership working with stakeholders. The year long project from January to December 2015 will ultimately develop sustainable partnerships with our European counterpart organisations and enable preparation and planning for longer term consortium based learner mobilities and the formalisation of trans national learning opportunity and to provide wider cultural experience and continuing professional development for each of the participants.
