Start date: Jun 17, 2014, End date: Sep 16, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

"P'tit Cirq'en Palc" exists since 2009 and is aimed at building links between young people coming from different amateur Belgium circus schools. During nine days, fifty young circus passionate wil live together during a residency mixing together discoveries and improvement. This residency leads to the creation of a big show presented within the framework of the P'tit Cirq'en Palc Festival, a free event taking place in the city centre of Wavre. For this second European edition, the Circus School of Brabant Wallon (ECBW) wants to amplify and diversify its project by inviting six European delegations so to make the youth aware of their European citizenship and of creative work in a multicultural field. Young people from circus schools of Berlin, Praga, Barcelona, Galway, Tampere and San Petersburg are going to share this incredible experience. In total, four young people and one circus trainer from each school are involved in this big common creation project which objective is the performance during the P'tit Cirq'en Palc Festival 2014. Special activities and participation methods will be shaped especially for this group gathering about thirty young people such as moments of dicussion about the European Union and the circus specialities of each country. The role they will play in the performance beside all their European companions will be representative of the role they have to play within the European diversity. During one week, they will experience the life of a real profesional artist, participating in the comunication of the event, the setting of the scene, the creation and the workshops. They are entirely involved in the project and behave as actors of their exchange and their European citizenship. Their involvment will be complete: in the bodies and in the words. Some activities with the whole group (fifty young people) will be necessary for the dress rehearsal during the "P'tit Cirq'en Palc Festival" but the European theme about European citizenship will remain so to keep a coherent structure. The whole creation process will be supervised by a professional producer. The heart of this exchange are the Circus Arts seen as an efficient informal tool for the cultural, social and professional training of youth and improvement of European citizenship.
