Search for European Projects

Ouverture à l'Europe pour des élèves de 3 à 6 ans par le biais d'une imprégnation linguistique et culturelle.
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

We are teachers in a four-class "kindergarten school" . We are in charge of 3 to 4-year-old children . We are used to working as a team on common projects and, for the sake of consistency and efficiency, the four of us are ready to go training in Great Britain during our holidays so as to set up our project and make use of our new skills at the start of the new school year in September 2014 . One of the goals of our school project is " living together" . This project is also linked to a nearby elementary school that works under the same juridiction and provides the teaching of English . Our activities focus on the development of oral language, tolerance, respect of diversity, openness to others and unifying projects such as the choir . By doing so, we aim at training our students - from their youngest age- to becoming citizens . Exchanges with other english speaking European schools by eTwinning will help reinforce this training. We wish to help our students discover a new culture and language through various activities - mainly oral - so as to create an opening onto Europe . On our return, we will implement workshops with small groups of children, such as a choir, playing singing and dancing games, all of that in English . These workshops will develop children's listening and concentrating skills , all useful to any training . English being one of the most widely used language in Europe, it will permit international exchanges and favour European unity . To fully and effectively implement this project, it is important that the 4 of us can actually experience the English language and culture and follow this training . This will allow us to upgrade our language skills , both theoretically and practically, and learn about cultural differences through experiences, both realistic and practical . During this training course, we will probably meet people from various European countries ; the contacts we will be able to make during our stay, will facilitate the setting up of an active exchange with an Englih-speaking European school so as to create a link with a member country of Europe . This will allow our young students to become aware of the cultural and linguistic diversity of European society together with their own French identity . In addition, as teachers, it is our duty to make our students become "little citizens" as well as " little Europeans " . To reach this aim, we have to make them "experience" Europe .We are teachers in a four classes 'kindergarten school. We care for 3 to 6 year old children. We are used to working as a team on common projects and are ready, for the sake of consistency and efficiency, the four of us, to go training in Great Britain during our holidays. We want our students to discover a new culture and language through oral activities mainly. On our return we will implement workshops with small groups of children, such as a choir, listening to stories, and singing games . To fully and effectively implement this project it is important that the four of us can actually experience the English language and culture and follow this training. This will allow us to upgrade our language skills both theoretically and practically and learn about cultural differences through experiences , both realistic and practical . This will allow our young students to become aware of the cultural and linguistic diversity of European society . In addition, as teachers , we need to make our students and young people European. To move towards this goal , we must provide them with a hands on experience of Europe.
