Outdoors as a Tool Network meeting
Start date: Nov 1, 2015, End date: Apr 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

This network meeting for the Outdoors as a Tool network is a meeting where the focus is on training of volunteers and building on a strong and cooperative international network. Experiential learning is the main methods used by the participating organizations, both in their work as in this training. Partners from different countries provide workshops on their working methods and best practices. This will al be theories and methods in the field of youth work, for example group dynamics, communication styles, feedback, practical social psychology, experiential learning and leadership. The aim is to improve the quality of youth work by giving young leaders the theoretical background to make their own programs more evidence based, better structures and more focused on the aim of youth development. Is this training we create a space where youth workers can provide and practise with their own workshops, but they can also choose to just participate and gain new skills. The project is hosted by Buitendoor from the Netherlands and will take place 05-07-2016 till 07-02-2016 (excluding travel days) at a venue near Hilversum, the Netherlands. 30 youth workers, aged 18 to 30, with different levels of experience, coming from Netherlands, Poland, Latvia, Sweden, Russia and Romania. At the end we will try to gather as much as possible of the shared information and knowledge in a document. This can be shared freely with all people interested in this topic. Next to that we will emphasize the connections and networks between the organizations and individuals involved in the project. Because we believe that we are all facing challenges that others already have encountered so we can benefit largely from each others experience.
