Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The participants of the project included students of post-secondary Medyczne Studium Zawodowe (Vocational School of Medicine) in Sucha Beskidzka (branch of School of Vocational Training in Katowice), who were trained to become medical guardians and massage therapists. Three weeks of practice were scheduled, which were be attended by 1 group of 10 persons, in the city of Cordoba in Spain. Students carried out teaching programmes at the technical college level in their extramural studies. Internships took place in hospitals, nursing homes for people with disabilities and physiotherapy clinics. Students included the unemployed or people professionally active, who were in the process of retaining. Work placement abroad was an opportunity to perfect their vocational skills and gain new experiences. Work placement abroad gave them the opportunity, by describing the competencies including universal standards, to ensure international recognition of qualifications, which in turn increased their mobility on the labour market. Additionally, the project met the need to explore other cultures, customs and languages, as well as enabled students to become more open-minded, gain new life experiences and acquire skills that would help them to deal with difficult and unusual situations and circumstances. In these days, it is necessary to improve one`s skills permanently, including the improvement of educational process. Implementation of the project gave participants the opportunity to develop professional skills and broaden the scope of competences. The school itself also benefited, since the project allowed a comparison of educational system and the quality of teaching with foreign training institutions. Setting professional practice program, monitoring and evaluation of the project were an opportunity for self-reflection and the improvement of teaching methods and forms of school operation. Participants of the placement were confronted with other systems of practical training, which contributed to the development of their creativity and ability to cope with new or unexpected situations. Certificates and confirmation as well as description of acquired competences will have a positive influence on participants` self-esteem. Language skills are necessary to move freely in a foreign country. They are also crucial in communication with foreigners in Poland. Participation in work placement abroad definitively helped to improve students` language skills. The main objective of the project was to improve the quality of vocational training through the development of knowledge and skills of 10 students of Non-Public Vocational School of Medicine in Sucha Beskidzka (branch of School of Vocational Training in Katowice), who were trained to become medical guardians and massage therapists. Moreover, the project`s objectives were in line with priorities of the Erasmus+ programme, because its aim was to facilitate the mobility of young people through the validation of experience gained abroad, i.a. through the implementation of ECVET system, according to the acquired experience. During the implementation of the previous project, special methods and tools for validation were developed.. This project involved the comparison of educational paths and manner of validation in vocational education in the above-mentioned countries. Expected outcomes of the project were as follows: - Implementation of the European Plan of Development of School of Vocational Training in Katowice (improvement of qualifications of administrative and teaching staff, modification of the curriculum in order to make it relevant to the changing labour market, increasing the diversity of the school in respect of offered internships, increasing the participation of employers in the learning process) - Increasing students` professional skills that allow an effective performance on the labour market - Issuing certificates to project participants that confirm working as interns, which will allow the international recognition of qualifications and the transfer of competences - Increase in language skills and mobility of project participants.
