Organización escolar desde una perspectiva europea
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

CRA Rio Aragón is a public school consisting of seven schools located in seven different villages, which share the same Educational Project and Management Team. It is located in the North of the Autonomous Community of Aragón, in Huesca, near the Pyrenees. It is an Infant, Primary and Lower Secondary School with students ranging from 3 to 14 years old. Although it might seem at first sight that the school is pretty isolated due to its geographical condition, CRA Rio Aragón is a dynamic centre which takes part in a variety of projects every year, and has some experience in European projects thanks to its successful participation in three Comenius projects so far. As a result of this participation, the Teacher Council became aware of the necessity to include international activities in the Educational Project of the school, which became effective thanks to activities such as the educational exchange programme, a foreign language (English) boosting programme, the study of a second foreign language (French) from the 5th grade upwards and finally, creating a working group with this European perspective in mind. However, we are an ambitious school eager to expand the internationalization of our students, maximize the European added value of their skills, and foster the opening to Europe of teachers, families and institutions around us. The seeds from which our project springs are:1.-The approval of the LOMCE (National Law for Education) and the new Aragonese legislation for Education foster the development of a new Educational Project which can include new contents in a particular time for Centre Project. This translates into new projects to be included in the Classroom Programme. 2.-The next academic year will see the renewal of the Management Team, whose members are eager to assume the European challenge and implement a European Development Plan in the school.3.-On January, 15th 2016, a new law on Education was published and provides the opportunity to make adjustments in the school time and space organization in Infant and Primary Schools. This means what the school has the chance to change its Educational Project and schedule (so far all the Primary school children in Aragon had split lessons in the mornings and afternoons). This period of change and renewal which parts from our very context and necessities, offers the opportunity to train us in innovative methods and school organization, timing, pedagogical approaches and attention to diversity. We have the need and the opportunity, we also have very clear goals and one question “which are the cutting-edge educational systems in Europe? The answer is very clear: the Nordic countries or those which are heading the ranking provided by the PISA assessments nowadays. After a thorough research, we got what we were looking for, four partners from four different leading countries in Education: Finland, Sweden, Slovakia and Estonia. Our project is divided into three main blocks which aim to provide answers and cover our needs. BLOCK 1: Key action geared towards learning new organizational approaches and innovative methodologies. BLOCK 2: Key action aimed at the use of ICTs as a tool for the spread of knowledge and the establishment of international relationships. BLOCK 3: Key action aimed at linguistic competence improvement. The staff mobilities we apply for are part of the first Block and consist of jobshadowing activities in the four selected European schools. Both teachers and the members of the Management Team will take part in these mobilities. The main goal of this Block is the teachers´professional growth through observation and the acquisition of innovative methodologies and different school organization strategies. This acquisition of new skills is focussed on:-New attention to diversity approaches and the inclusion of pupils with special needs.-Innovative interdisciplinary approaches. -Strengthening of the Management Team, leading to more efficient organization models.-Identifying potential new synergies between formal and non-formal education. The project won´t only impact the direct participants but also the rest of educational community from the very beginning of the project. Evaluation of the project is crucial for a successful development and will be done before, during and after the project, which will lead to the integration of the results into the European Development Plan of the school. At the same time, the project means the beginning of new programmes with European Added Value included in the Educational Project of the school.
