Organisational Diagnosis and B-Learning Tool for Enhancement of the Wine TourismSME

Despite the tourism annual statistic pointed out a raising number of visitors to wineries in Europe, from the tourism point of view the Wine Tourism training courses are rare, existing two exceptional cases of post-graduate training in Wine Tourism, one in PT (Universidade Lusófona) and other in Spain (Universidad de Salamanca). Therefore BACCHUS SME project will complete an existing lack detected in the tourism Vocational and Educational Training. The partnership is compose by 6 organisations from FR, PT, AT, ES, BG and IT, the partners of BACCHUS SME were chosen taking into account the desirable interaction between research and business fields. The partnership presents a cooperative that work to support and promote sustainable rural development, economic, social, business and employment (FR) with a strong ability to communicate and disseminate project results at local, regional, national and transnational level; three SMEs (PT, AT, BG) operating into vocational training, adult education and human resources consulting field, BG also works actively in the field of economic consulting of companies with experience in elaborating several organisational diagnosis for SME enterprises and actions plans for organisational development; one University (ES) covering the scientific fields and know-how related to tourism and organizational development and with experience in interdisciplinary research; and a local development agency that works to support and promote sustainable rural development, economic, social, business and employment (IT) and operates, among other, in the areas of rural tourism, environmental education, innovation and technology transfer and vocational training.The partnership has relevant associated partners such as public bodies, stakeholders and regional and national development associations and wine tourism enterprises as associated partners, namely FR–vineyard growers, wine producers and the academic institutions with departments relevant to wine / PT – Municipio de Palmela (Wine Route of the Peninsula of Setubal/Costa Azul ) and Adega Mayor (a winery) / IT - Molise Region (a public body), The University of Molise (a State University) and The Wine Tourism Movement Molise (non-profit association), Associazione Italiana Sommelier Molise (an association to promote the wine of Molise); AT - Innovation Region Styria (an association of 7 Innovation and Technology Centres and the Styrian Chamber of Commerce); BG - Villa Vinifera (a wine cellar in the Thracian Lowland wine region; ES - Avila County Council (represents 248 municipalities, have partnership establish with several Wine tourism enterprises).BACCHUS SME partnership intent to initiate the research phase with a focus group, in all the partners countries, with stakeholders, such as public bodies, local development associations and wine tourism experts to discuss the project ideas and the most important points of this tourism sector, visitors motivations and expectations, strategies, plans, difficulties, etc. Based on the insights from the focus group the university (ES) and the consultancy SME (BG) engaged in the partnership will lead the development of the status of the art related both with organizational development theoretical frame as well as wine tourism theoretical frame. Based on the research carried related with the wine tourist profile in partners involved in the consortium, IT partner will led, with the support of the remain partners, the development of diagnose tool for the wine tourism sector and an innovative blended training course directly replying to specific needs of entrepreneurs and staff of wine tourism SME, which will result in the development of organizational improvement plans addressed for the characteristic and specificity of wine tourism. The PT partner will develop BACCHUS SME Platform, which will incorporate the above outputs and will support the BACCHUS SME piloting test for assessing the BACCHUS SME diagnosis tool and B-learning course.BACCHUS SME project will also involve tourism public organisations and stakeholders in order to give visibility to BACCHUS SME outputs which potentiate the Wine Tourism SME as a quality/sustainable offer, associate with other endogenous and regional products that improve tourist offer in those regions, as well as contribute significantly for the local development.BACCHUS SME project will strongly invest in dissemination strategies that allow the project to reach its target groups/key actors directly, wine tourism entrepreneurs and staff, public bodies and stakeholders through the website and Facebook, publication of news-letters and news in social media, flyers, contact with local and regional press. BACCHUS SME project exploitation activities through the promotional booklet (description of the project/results) will be distributes at the regional workshop and the final international conference and will consolidate the wine tourism as a high quality and sustainable tourist offer.
