Opolscy fachowcy na start
Start date: Dec 31, 2015, End date: Dec 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

A group of 45 high-school students of mechatronics and electrical engineering will participate in the project. These will be second and third year students who are interested in enhancing their professional competences, gaining the knowledge and improving the skills related to the organisation and workplace culture of Austrian companies operating on the European market. During the four-week training sessions the students will also acquaint themselves with the culture, history and tourist values of the Austrian Styria region. Project objectives: - Facilitate professional development of students - Give these young professionals better chances of success on the European labour market - Enhance the students’ interpersonal and language skills - Get to know the organisation of work in Austrian companies - Establish new social and professional contacts (networking) On non-working days the students will take trips to learn about Styria’s culture and history. Moreover, they will also have the opportunity to develop their language skills under the supervision of a German language teacher. What is more, an important objective of the project is to draw attention to the similarity of the development opportunities of Styria and Silesia, as both regions have congruent traditions of mining and metal industries. A program of linguistic and mental preparations prior to the training abroad will not only ensure that the student have sufficient communication abilities in German, but will also give the youth an understanding of the role that such foreign training can play in their professional careers. As a part of the preparations the students will also get acquainted with the present economy and politics of Austria. A professional Internet portal will be created for the students, so that in the course of the training each student can build their e-Portfolio (a modern CV in electronic form), which – after completing one's education – can be extended and shared via Internet across the world. E-Portfolio will include sections about the students’ vocational training and their interests; it will employ the format of a blog and will contain multimedia in Polish and English. The entire solution will be overseen and moderated by a career advice and planning specialist. The experience, professional and language skills as well as the established contacts and a professional e-Portfolio will definitely increase the young people’s chance of success on the European labour market. A long-term task will be to facilitate the students' multi-directional development as future specialists who break their communication barriers and broaden their horizons of professional and personal growth. Here the international contacts established by the students and the knowledge they won will prepare them for an entry into the European labour market.
