Educational quality management is of vital importance for an effective school policy. Improvement in the schools' quality will result in higher student and teacher satisfaction, a better educational performance of our students and less drop-out. Setting up a quality system in our school will help us to stimulate our reflective skills and competences, to increase participation of teachers, students, parents and other stakeholders and to provide education tailored to students' individual needs and abilities.
We would like to gradually improve our self-evaluation and self-steering capacity by setting up a quality system, but we still need to gain the knowledge, methodology, insights and skills needed to achieve this goal. We would like to be able to get to know and to be able to apply a coherent set of strategies for improving the quality of our school and would like to strengthen our policy making capacity. During the 'Teach, Learn and Quality' course we will be introduced to different methods which will enable us to edit our own quality plan and we will be able to reflect together with educational quality experts within a European context. We would like to establish a network of European partners who would like to work and reflect with us to achieve this goal.
The effects of the training course will not only be visible in our own school. Since we have joined a cross-school quality management team, we would communicate and share our new insights with other schools as well. In this way, we can build up a network with both Belgian and European schools to start up an educational quality system and to introduce motivating and creative educational methods which will improve the knowledge, skills and attitudes of our European students and will stimulate their eagerness to keep learning for life.
