One Step Closer to the European Labour Market

Today’s Europe is facing quite a number of major challenges: aging societies, shortage of qualified labour force able to meet the real needs of the labour market and global competition. The project “One Step Closer to the European Labour Market”, proposed by CTEU, promotes development, transfer, validation and recognition of knowledge, competences and skills in view of increasing the quality of the qualifications, the insertion on the labour market and the professional mobility for 90 students,XI-th graders of CTEU, studying in the domains: Economic, Tourism and Technical . The project develops 3 work programme through on-the-job training ( according to national SPP and Curriculum, the Module „Electronic Circuits” is common to the two technical qualifications) which are consistent with the content of the Romanian curriculum but are simultaneously correlated to the competences specific to the similar qualifications in the host countries and the local, regional and European needs. Objectives of the project: O1. Development of knowledge, competences and skills of the future graduates in view of optimizing their employability. O2. Development of social and personal skills, of the entrepreneurial spirit and adjustment to various organizational cultures. O3. Improvement of communication competences in a foreign language to facilitate access to information, optimal adjustment to a European work environment, understanding and development of the European identity. O4. Promotion and development of international cooperation in education and training. The activities of the project will be carried out in two years , with on-the-job training placements , with a duration of 3 weeks/flow, in Portugal and Germany. In the traineeship, the participants will acquire work experience in a real, performing environment on the European labour market and will develop, besides professional competences consistent with their qualification, the ability to discover themselves and the desire of improvement, communication in a foreign language, better understanding of other organizational cultures, European identity, briefly, all those elements every employer on the labour market, regardless the qualification,would definitely appreciate. The project will contribute to increase the quality of the educational process, the recognition of LO acquired in different learning environments through ECVET, a better visibility for CTEU on a regional, national and European level and hopefully, will boost the local companies’ interest and motivation in providing initial training to high school students.
