One Leather training – Unifornizacao da Formacao em Curtumes na Europa

All industries in Europe are exposed to global competition also the leather industry. The main competitors base their strategy on high production volumes, low quality and low prices. The leather industry wants to base its development strategy on innovation, quality, RD and other factors that can contribute to a demarcation of the industry’s final product. To do so, it is essential to provide continuous training to the key professional profiles in order to improve their skills, thus contributing to an increase of the industry’s competitiveness in the global economy, enabling it to face the challenges posed by this competition scenario. Therefore the aim of this project is to extend the coverage of the previously developed self-training Kit in terms of professional profiles and languages. This will bring more transparency and recognition on qualifications and contribute to the workforce mobility across Europe. The former product – a Self-training training Kit in 5 languages (English, Portuguese, German, and Greek), addressed to 3 specific professional profiles – Foremen, Salesmen, Sorter Grader – will be adapted, developed and translated in new languages (Spanish, Italian and Romanian) and will concerned one more professional profile – Raw materials purchase manager – The participation of 8 important technological centres, working with enterprises, will contribute to the dissemination of the final product. More than 58 000 workers are concerned by this product.
