Once Upon a Garden
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

United in diversity is the motto of the European Union. The "Once upon a Garden" youth exchange, 17th - 31th July 2016 in Rome, will represent for 21 young people from Finland, Germany and Italy an opportunity to explore the idea of diversity, in its forms, to deepen and enlarge their perspectives about Fundamental European important values, such inclusion, anti-discrimination and active participation, in a critical historical moment. The youth exchange, follow up of the previous international experience in Leverkusen (Germany) in 2015, will be hosted in the school "Grazia Deledda" in Rome, where the participants all together, despite their different social, economic backgrounds or despite their special needs, will have the possibility to learn and develop themselves through the life in common, within a context built by them that pays attention to their different individual needs. The impact of the project there will be clear and long-lasting, the youngsters, in fact, will set up a garden that will be also decorated through artistic and creative recycling intervention. Furthermore, they will aslo prepare a photobook story on the debated topics. This garden will be used by the school and its pupils for realising socio-cultural activities. The youngsters will directly live diversity, inclusion and participation as elements that enrich their experential baggage, becoming multipliers of a social change towards a more fair and sustainable society
