The project aimed to assist the investigation of the section of the River Szamosdelimited by flood protection dikes between Vásárosnamény and the border. Theriver regulation concept constituted an urgent task. Design of the waterway enabledthe traffic of watercraft of small dive. The large water riverbed rearrangement concepthad a great impact on the rehabilitation of dead riverbeds valuable from the natureprotection and tourism points of view. The environmental impact study completed inthe framework of the project made it possible that interventions be performed by takingnature and environment protection interests fully into consideration. Funding wasalso used for completing the design of water quality loss reduction locations and theconstruction plan for covering the crown of flood protection dikes.
