We decided with our project ’’ Olive Path from Klazomenai to Europa ‘’ to create an olive oil workshop designed for children. In Urla there is one of the oldest olive oil workshops of the world, from the Ionians (2500 years old), Klazomenai. Next to this ancient workshop , another workshop will be created for children. With this we aim that children from different European cultures get together and intercultural communication is created. Since olive is accepted as a peace symbol in the whole world, we like to give the children peace and brotherhood consciousness. With the practice of activities concerning olive, we aim to protect common cultural values and get to know different cultures. The children will gather the olives together, press them in their own mill, gain olive oil, bottle this olive oil and will apply on the bottles their own designed peace theme labels. Thus, together, they will get to know the nature of olive. Researches about different myths of olive in each country will be made. Multilingual booklets, a documentary about the process, an exhibition of olive trees photographs will be prepared. An olive festival with all the partners’ contribution will be held.
