The city of Bitlis is placed in Eastern Anatolia Region, a disadvantaged region. Our region is in a condition that should urgently be enhanced in terms of geography, living conditions and provided opportunities. People living in Bitlis and naturally our students in our schools are exposed to these disadvantaged conditions. In our city, According to the data taken from Bitlis Guidance and Research Center ,alongside 1450 disabled students, we have a student profile having problem of socio economic circumstances, sociocultural issues, educational inclusion, equal opportunities, social acceptance, struggling with the difficulties in terms of inclusion and having a high risk of dropping out of school. This project is developed to create equal opportunities by increasing the quality of education, integrate the disadvantaged students into the society, increase the socialization and provide students with a more productive, functional and beneficial education. While creating the content of the project, the schools with the highest number of disadvantaged students are included in the project. Among the schools forming our consortium, there are 2 primary school, 3 secondary school, 4 Regional Boarding Secondary School and a Special Education School. In our schools, there are inclusive education, students educated in special education classroom and students falling into other disadvantaged groups. Our Special Education School is a school for disabled students with first, second and third degree. Teachers from 10 different school will get education for increasing their knowledge and ability related to the education process of the disadvantaged students. By participating two different courses in England, Ireland, Spain and Italy named as ‘ Educating Students with Special Needs, Strategies and Tools’ and ‘ Key competences in socio-cultural and educational inclusion of disadvantaged groups’,participants in the project will start to work for increasing the quality and productivity of education of all the disadvantaged students in the city including the disabled ones. The aim of the project is serving to a more high-grade education as Provincial Directorate of Education by contributing to the sociocultural and educational inclusion of all disadvantaged students. We aim to decrease the negative affects of the disadvantages and enhance the circumstances of the disadvantaged students. It is aimed to increase the quality of educational activities in our city, be an example for other cities, generalize, democratization in education, Europeanisation, nationalization, adopting equality in education, interaction, sharing between cultures and so adopting and applying the EU policies in agreement European 2010 Strategic Priorities. Our activities; our participants will attend a language course provided by our Provincial Directorate of Education be the courses. 10 teachers and 3 administrators (totally 26 people) will participate two different courses that will organized at different times. After the courses, generalization activities for teachers, administrators and families of students will be organized. Pre-test and post-test will be done to evaluate aimed level of the awareness of the administrators and the families. Our participant teachers will share the knowledge and abilities achieved during the courses and support the participation of other teachers in generalization process. Besides, the generalization process will be supported with the help of the social media, mail groups and e-twinning. Impact and Results: Transferring the acquired knowledge and abilities to the other teachers in other schools in our city will contribute to a more beneficial and productive to be provided to the students. All the teachers and administrators are expected to achieve an awareness on the inclusion an education of disadvantaged students and get productive education applications. With the planned meeting to inform families, we aim to increase the awareness of families about the disadvantage students, include them in education process and support the family-school cooperation during education. Education of the disadvantaged students by innovative teachers and teachers with quality education methods and the integration of students into society by increasing their academic success will be enhanced. By this way, the bias among society towards all the disadvantaged people will be overcame and social acceptance will be triggered. Positive effects on our participants about knowing European culture, observing different education applications, participating educational activities for disadvantaged students, learning about the disabled and all other disadvantaged students’ profile in Europe, learning about EU Policies on education, applications for social integration of disadvantaged students and generalization process of these are expected.
