Ölüm ile Yaşam Arası İnce Çizgide AB Uygulamaları
Start date: Aug 29, 2016, End date: Aug 28, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Project name: ‘ EU Applications on the fine line between Death and Life’. In this project, there will be 54 participant students who have education in EMT and nursing departments of our institution and partner institutions and 9 specialist teacher in their field will accompany.Life means heart beating!!! Without medical attention, cardiac arrest(CA) can lead to death within a few minutes so the first immediate treatment is a choice between life and death. According to TÜİK 2014 data, 95 percent of cardiac arrest(heart failure) cases that occur outside of a hospital results in death. This emphasizes the importance of prehospital services. According to the Ministry of Health 2014 data, 374 thousand people died in 2014 and approximately 200.000 of them died due to cardiac diseases (CD). It is expected that the number of patients who have CD will increase to 400.000 in between 2015 and 2020. Although, the young population in Turkey is more than the young population in Europe countries, the number of people who have CD in Turkey is more than the number of people who have CD in Europe countries. Among the EU countries, Turkey is on the first rank in CD related death. Also, according to Turkish Society of Cardiology data, the frequency of CD is 43 percent. According to literature reviews, the frequency of CD in Spain, Germany, Italy is less than the frequency of CD in the European countries and USA. Paramedic or EMT implements prehospital emergency care to CA cases. After the prehospital emergency care, the patients are treated by emergency nurses. Thus, the education and training quality of health care personnel, who plays an important role in the treatment of CA cases, is important. Timely and efficient treatment should be implemented to the life-threatening CA in the cardiac emergency. CA should be identified in a short time, efficient/right emergency care and professionel advanced life support should be implemented. These are possible with the implementation of emergency care and emergency treatment. Content knowledge, professional ability, experience and instinctive behaviour are required to be professional in Emergency Health Servies (AHS). Instinctive behaviour means that content knowledge should be internalised with experiences and so when the personnel encounters the CA patient, he/she can implement right treatment without the need for think. This looks alike driving a car. The behaviours are automatised; this is internalisation or instinctive behaviour. According to WHO 2012 data, it is stated that CA related death rate is decreased by 25 percent via conscious/efficient/qualified education and immediate treatment. While the development process of AHS field is completed in EU countries, this is a new field in our country. In the developed countries, in the light of innovative information, the healthcare personnel who implement immediate treatment have in-service trainings and these personnel branch out in this field. Thus,Our participants need To learn innovative and up-to-date information about rapidly growing AHS field,To observe the diagnosis and early response of CA, approaches and implementation of emergency care and nursing interferences, emergency treatment, and the equipment that are used in this field on site and to transfer innovative/different/efficient ones.By the help of the project, our target is to raise equipped, informed, experienced, qualified health care personnel in the EU standards. The objectives are;To improve our participants’ professional knowledge/skill and experience by educating them in EU countries,To teach our participants basic and advanced life support implementations in accordance with 2015 ERC protocols and to transfer innovative, efficient ones to our country,To compare the vocational education in EU countries with vocational education in our country,To improve our participants’ professional language and foreign language,To raise the EU consciousness, to developed vocational education within the scope of Erasmus + LDV,To develop innovative applications in vocational education and training field that stays out of higher education. The expected outcomes of the project are to increase the number of qualified personnel who have EU level CA related education, to give coverage to outcomes of project in the vocational education system and so to improve the vocational education, to provide dissemination of project outcomes and so to improve the quality of health care services, to decrease CA related death rates, to improve our participants’ professional language, communication skills and to provide employment opportunity. There will be 3 runs in the mobility activities and mobility activities will last for 21 days. These activities will be carried out in a hospital, Italy and educational institutions, Austria and Germany in between the dates 07.05.2017 and 27.05.2017. There will be an equal number of participants in each run.
