ÖKO-BRÜCKE
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project is the cooperation of four different countries (Hungary, Romania, Poland and Turkey), whose aim is to develop their students’ results in the field of natural sciences, call their attention and motivate them better. Regarding environmental education our further aim is to get familiar with the living and natural environment to develop our pupils’ attitude towards environmental awareness. We would like to achieve that the children get the knowledge with less teacher intervention. Their acquiring of knowledge should be based on experiences obtained in the reality, observations and measurements. We plan our project for two years, so the tasks are divided into the twenty-four months. We created a time schedule in which we described the project activities from month to month. The activities are varied and connected to different natural science topics. Students will search for information; make placards, portfolios, presentations, maquettes, albums, a calendar and an eco-board game. We will organize handicraft workshop, eco-exhibition, eco-market and make drawings, take photos and shoot films. We will also plan a common project logo. Moreover we plan special days in connection with environment protection and nature conservation and healthy lifestyle such as Health Day, International Energy Conservation Day and World Animal Day. During our activities we aimed the following methods and learning organizational forms in connection with environmental education: cooperative techniques, games, project method, field practice and creative activities. The participants will keep in touch via the Internet. Each school is responsible for the implementation of the tasks in time and they will inform the other schools about them and send the documentations. During the project we planned four teaching, learning, training activities, one in each country, when the host will take over the role of the coordinator. During these events all of the schools will present their best practices. The Polish school will show its Earth Day programme, the Romanian school will introduce its Space Week, the Hungarian school will present the programme of its Birds and Trees’ Day while the Turkish school will organize an eco-camp for the participants where they can be familiar with a protected tortoise species. All participating schools will organize such actions for the teaching, learning, training activities in which the children can work together in international groups to get familiar with each other quickly and reduce their fears. All teachers are responsible for promoting international networking. In addition each school will present the characteristics of its region. We will regularly inform our school staffs, the students, their parents and the local media about our project. At the beginning and at the end of the programme children will fill in a questionnaire which will be evaluated. With our project we would like to hint the seed of environmental awareness in our students and bring them up nature lover, environment protecting adults living a healthy life.
