ÖĞRENCİLERİM İÇİN ÖĞRENİYORUM
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our school gives special education to mentally retarded students which are the most disadvantageous group in the society. After the strategic plan, questionnaires and SWOT analysis, we have come to a result that the most inevitable point is that the teachers working in the school want to develop their skills on special education. So, we decided to subscribe to KA1. The project includes courses for mentally retarded students in self-care, daily life, language and speaking, academic, social coherence skills, and sexual, sport and parental educations. After we decided to write the project, we had a search on the special education system in Europe and saw that Norway, Finland and UK are the best. We contacted to related institutions and course providers in those countries. The International Study Programmes in Portsmouth, England has got the most suitable course plan in terms of our occupational development needs and goals. This Project aims to provide professional development to the participants, to bring a different perspective to the educational system of our school thanks to the knowledge and experience to be acquired from the training course, to increase the success of our students through instructional adaptations to be done by the help of the experience obtained, to improve the language skills of the participants and to create a European awareness. There are 7 participants, having a decree in mental disability teaching and working for 5-19 years in this field. All of our participants are self-willing to improve their selves and interested in European Union projects and enjoy learning. In preparation for the course, the participants will attend a 96 hours of English course in Erbaa Directorate of Adult Education Center. The participants will have a research and learn Britain's physical, social and cultural position. The participants will be attending training about the education system of mental disabilities and the training will be supported by a series of activities. They will attend a conference by a specialist, school and class observations in the sample schools, practical training and workshops with the experts in England Portsmouth in 7 days. We have considered all the probabilities for each condition from the beginning to the end of the Project and have a consensus with the course provider company International Study Programmes. After the course as a premium result, our participants will increase their professional knowledge and skills and reflect these on the educational environment of our school. Thus our school will have an elevated perspective and approach in the education system. Finally our mentally disabled students will come up with the ability to improve their achievement.
