O sansa pentru viitor
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

In our School Action Plan for the years 2014 – 2017 there are mentioned the strategic aims, such as training the work force in accordance with the requests of the European labor market, one of the priorities being training students for an open society, for the economy of the future and active citizenship, in order to integrate in an united Europe. Nowadays, in vocational high schools there is an increased request to focus learning economic subjects on the practical aspects of the local, national and European market (in areas such as tourism, public alimentation, commerce). Thus, the project aims at developing and improving the practical skills specific for our students’ qualifications: technician in economic activities, technician in administration, and technician in commerce third level, facilitating their personal and professional development, their access on the European labor market and organizing an exchange where Romanian teachers can share experiences in order to adjust the monitoring, assessment and certification instruments used during the students’ practice training. The project meets the need of the participants, both students and teachers, to know and experiment the way in which schools, firms and local community collaborate to organize the students’ practice training at international level. The 17 teachers who will participate in the mobility activities are all coordinators of the students’ practice training in our school and members of the curricular area Technologies; they are experienced in certificating professional competences through the coordination of their specialization projects for the qualification levels 4. The 64 beneficiary students will be organized in 4 flows, according to their qualification: 16 students qualifying as technicians in economic activities, 16 students qualifying as technicians in tourism and 16 students qualifying as technicians in gastronomy. Presently, their practical training is organized according to the Training Firm model, where they replicate all the activities performed in a real firm, in the public alimentation laboratories, and the tourism lab, the reception of the school hostel, the travel agency Junior. During the selection process, students from rural communities will be encouraged to participate, since they represent the majority in our school (around 70%), and they don’t have frequent access to economic, tourism and alimentation unities as consumers or practicing students. The main activities to be organized during the teachers’ flow will be debates, round table discussions, job shadowing, workshops and will be centered on problems regarding the procedures and quality of practice periods and on signing and managing the practice contracts. During the three student flows there will be practical activities organized at various economic agents, according to the students’ qualifications (travel agencies, restaurants, commerce and service firms), monitored by a tutor designated by the partners. The expected results are: creating and developing practical skills and abilities validated through the Mobility Pass certificate for the 64 students; creating a practice diary for each qualification and student; 17 participating teachers with improved professional skills in areas like economy, tourism and public alimentation, able to coordinate practice trainings in an international context and to use new strategies to improve communication with the partner firms; designing an interactive website with international impact www.sansapentruviitor.com; creating a Support Guide for the teachers who coordinate practice trainings. Taking part in the project, both students and teachers will develop their ability to relate and adjust to new working environments; they will efficiently use their professional skills by quickly putting them into practice and thus developing their professional conduct at European standards. On a local, regional and international level there will be an increase in the integration degree of the participants on the international labor market in accordance with the qualifications they have trained for.
