Within the European Development Plan and in an effort to acquire a European dimension, the 12th Day Pilot Primary School Ilioupolis aims at promoting the learning mobility of its teachers with a view to modernization and internationalization of the educational work of the school and its e-twinning with other European schools. The lack of knowledge of European data on educational and teaching issues and the teachers’ insufficiency in language skills hinder this effort. Erasmus+ will enable us to develop mobility plans and teachers’ training courses through our participation in a course focusing on learning the English language at B2 level in another European country. The three trainee teachers and the project objectives are as follows: a. The school Headmaster, doctoral title contender, with rich writing and research work. His objectives are: • the opening of our school to Europe by organizing teaching courses so that teachers from other European countries can come in contact with the corresponding Greek data • the growing European awareness of our young students • teachers’ contact with European educational, pedagogical and teaching data. b. The communication agent and school teacher with continuous teaching presence and long experience in project work. She has direct co-operation with social workers of the association “Hamoyelo tou pediou” (Children’s smile) and organizes seminars (workshops at child psychiatrists’ centers as well as rehabilitation centers. Her objectives are: • acquiring information on relevant European issues and • attaining contact with relevant European bodies require good knowledge of English. c. The IT school teacher ( a mathematician specialized in professional guidance), experienced in organizing sample teaching sessions using the NT. Her objectives are: • attaining information on new international scientific data • the online connection of the school with other European ones • the web dissemination of the results of the training to other social groups The participants will: 1. organize meetings for scheduling 2. come in contact with the tour operator for further clarification 3. improve their communication skills in English 4. prepare a small digital presentation of the Greek educational system and elements of school life During the training, we will foster our language skills, we will familiarize ourselves with the educational system of the host country and we will respond to the intercultural spirit of mobility through exchanges of professional knowledge and experiences. At the same time, we will communicate the richness of different cultures. Finally, we will e-twin our school with other European schools and discuss potential sample teaching sessions and students’ mobility projects. After the completion of the training, a diffusion plan will be organized and presentations to community groups will be held (students, school colleagues, schools in the wider area, Parents’ Association, etc) and our school blog will be updated. International co-operation with other participants of the programme through e-twinning will provide opportunities for exchange of professional knowledge and good practices at European level. Short and long-term benefits: 1. the realization of the training activity will have a positive impact on us as participants, on our students and colleagues as well as other schools and institutions 2. our professional skills will be enhanced through the improvement of our language skills and our immersion in everyday life using English 3. students will benefit from the introduction of cultural data that will increase their motivation 4. the learning outcomes, in terms of professional development, will serve as motivation for further education 5. the e-twinning with other schools will broaden the horizons of the school, as it will acquire a European dimension 6. our young students’ European consciousness will grow
