O CARBALLIÑO EN EUROPA
Start date: Jul 1, 2015, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

For two years, our institution despite its small size, has made internationalization of training and mobility practices a key objective. First we have focused on the family of Administrative and have extended to the rest of the Vocational Short Cycles. Our main purpose is to promote a greater employability and acquisition of new skills that could not be acquired in our country by VET students. We seek to develop basic and transversal skills, not only digital level (MOODLE learning platform, open educational resources, digital assessment methods, use of specific software for a professional family, etc.) but also a linguistic level ( Improve language knowledge in the host country, and achieve one of the MCEFR levels). We cannot forget that we began this project, because of the socioeconomic context of our institution. This is defined by high levels of unemployment, low income levels, high dropout rate and increasing rate of youth emigration. Our project is aimed to carry out Training Practices in the work place for VET students of VET Administrative Management, Electrical and Power Equipment, and Electromechanical and Vehicles. Our institution applied for a two years project, because our authorities said to us that projects will be finished at 31 of May, so it makes impossible to carry out 410 hours of traineeship in order to fullfill the traineeship. We were able to modify into only one year project, therefore was no practice for graduates. Still we could do 5 mobilities. The practices were part of the curriculum, and to the end of them students credited the skills of each cycle, and received the appropriate certification and EUROPASS, contributing to a common European rating system. 5 mobilities were Portugal (2) and Italy (3). The age of participants were from 17 to 42 years. Traineeships are part of the curriculum, and the students had to achieve the skills of each short cycle. and received the Certification and Europass Form, contributing to a common qualification system. We intended to send students specifically to Portugal and Italy. We focused on Portugal because we believe that in recent years there have been an increasing presence of Galician companies in the North of Portugal, which we helped to create an economic and employable space between southern Galicia and Northern Portugal. For the first time we collaborated with the EURES Cross-Border Galicia-Norte de Portugal. Regarding Italy, the quality and the continuity over time of host partners, encourage us to continue. On the one hand the participants involved in the project are the IES Manuel Chamoso Lamas and the companies GEMIT IMPIANTI, INTEGRASUPPORT EVENTS Desportivos, AUTO CABLERIAS and AUTOCARROZZERIA CAMPANILE. The Lourinho and VCI companies had not mobilities for reasons we will expose, such as scaphoid fracture of a student who would carry out their internships in Lourinho Conservas de carne LDA, and VCI. On the other hand are involved as intermediaries partners BRAGAMOB and The Camara de Comercio Hispanoitaliana (Italcamara) The project was intended for Vocational Training students who completed their traineeships in in companies searched for intermediaries partners. Practices were done from April 2016 to June 2016. They lasted 10 weeks approximately, (75 days) with 410 hours of training. We did 5 traineeship mobilities and an assitant teacher mobility. Our intention is to develop new ways of learning. All actions and contacts with partners and participants had a MOODLE support, as our institution´s virtual classroom and also the monitoring were done using ICTs Platforms like mail, GOOGLE DRIVE, SKYPE, LINE, WHATSAPP … Within our objectives are to enforce employability, and to promote that VET students will be hired by companies, and also using mobility in order to develop, knowledge and skills that match with the needs of the labour market. 4 students had job offers. The students developed knowledges and professional skills during mobility in order to satisfy the needs of the labor market. We also intend to provide our students tools to deal with the situation of youth unemployment. This experience will make them mature as citizens, and future workers. Our project is quantitatively small, so the diffusion and impact of it was appropriate. Our institution wants to ensure quality training and attract tas much students as possible to the VET, in a crisis environment. We expect that companies in Galicia can benefit from students who did traineeships. We want that our students will be able to achieve maturity and competence to enable them even go to the entrepreneurship. We seek to increase the number of graduates who find work, although it is different for each professional group, up to 25% during the years of the project. We hope that the project will continue until 2020. The diffusion was made on the Comission Web, our own web, talks with students, business associations ,local authorities, Tv, Radio and press.
