The Székely Mihály Foundation for Vocational Training was established, as the civil organizations are ususally, to support the students of the vocational school, and provide financial sources for the programmes of the school. Of course this can be done only with committed and competent professionals. The foundation together with the Portugal partner, the Associacao Intercultural Amigos da Mobilidade, have chosen a topic which is among the areas supported by the European Union to help employment and mobilities. The topic of the application is: overcoming language barriers with the customers and guests. For the internship would travel six students of the catering, and 2 students of the commerce professional group from the cooperating and supported school for a four-week mobility. The scheduled date of the mobility is Oct 17 2016 - Nov 13 2016.The background of the project: nowadays in all Europe and in our country as well the demand for language competence has become more important. The English language is the one wich should be learnt by everybody to understand and experience what is happening outside their homeland. Why is it important? Doors will open, where we can rely on our taste and worldview, and don’t have to get the information through strong filters. Through the English language, people can meet each other independently from their mother tongue, nationality or cultural background. They can get a job in any country of the EU. In our homeland the standard of employment is growing as part of the empoyers seek young people with language skills. It is especially true for the catering and commerce branch in the service sector.The main purpose of our project is that our students could practise their professions in a foreign language environment in order to improve their language skills besides their working experience. Our town and our region builds its economy on tourism and the related commerce, so for the welcoming of guests the small entrepreneurs need well trained English speaking young people. The employment of students with language skills and qualifications in catering and commerce is going to improve, thereby country life can boom. To accomplish the project successfully, the foundation looks after the tasks of the preparation carefully, such as the application, selection, and preparation of students, organization of the journey, signing of the working contracts, choosing the internship places, and providing boarding. The realization period is about the actual activities, where the accompanying teacher and a foreign mentor follow the professional and language improvement of the students. The working and program journals report about these. The written documents, students’ accounts, language tests certify the development of the students as a closing of the project. All of these have profit for the individual, the community, the town, the country and thereby for all Europe. The importance of communication in English is unquestionable.As in our homeland still few people speak languages, the Székely Mihály Foundation wishes to contribute to the development of language skills through providing opportunities for vocational school students to take part in foreign internship programs. In the interest of this purpose, the foundation will cooperate with the staff of the school. The schedule of the project management, a working program, a dissemination plan, marker sheets, preparation schedules, and the letter of intent of the host organization are attached to the application form.
