Project entitled "Nowoczesne hotelarstwo - zagraniczne praktyki jako krok na drodze do sukcesu zawodowego II" provided for 30
students of ZSA to undertake vocational internships in Italy and Spain. Participants have been chosen from among II and III grade
students learning for the professions of hotel manager and landscape architect. The internship was acknowledged by the school
as the obligatory internship period every student has to go through when learning in ZSA. The internships took place in April
and May 2015. Students were preceded by cultural and linguistic courses. The project constitutes a continuation of a "Leonardo da
Vinci" project currently run by ZSA.
An overarching, long-term goal of the project is to improve students' readiness to undertake jobs as hotel managers or landscape
architects. It was achieved through the attainment of a number of detailed objectives. The first one of these is to provide the
students of ZSA with basic professional experience which they may acquire through vocational internships. Another one is to create
the possibility for ZSA students to apply in practice and verify the knowledge they gain at school. Furthermore, the project aims at
developing competences related to foreign languages and communicating in the multicultural environment. The above-described
objectives are strictly connected with students' needs identified by our school, resulting from the situation on the labour market.
As a result of their participation in the project, students develop their professional competence. This will facilitate their future
entrance onto the labour market. They increased their linguistic, cultural and social competences. For many of them, it was the first opportunity to travel abroad on their own, without their parents. It was also a lesson of openness toward other cultures, tolerance, establishing relations in an intercultural environment.
