The participation in the project „ Modern and pro-European school” will result in increasing the knowledge of variety of European cultures and languages.The main aim of the project is to promote tolerance, and openess to other languages, nations and cultures among the youth and teaching staff. The participation in the project will help the participants acquire skills and competences necessary for personal development The project also involves departure of selected employees of Zespół Szkół Ponadgimnazjalnych by Franciszek Ratajczak in Kościan to foreign language and methodical courses. The courses will concern perfecting of language and methodical skills by foreign language teachers as well as widening of practical linguistic knowledge among other teachers. The project objectives The main objectives which the school would like to gain by undertaking the project are: - improving linguistic and methodical skills of employees- promotion of tolerance, openess and respect to variety among students and the school staff - promotion of linguistic diversity and Intercultural awareness - use of modern tools in teaching and international co-operation - strengthening the European dimension of the school and its international reach- providing students with skills required on the work market and combating failures in education The project group The participants of the project are six school teachers : one teacher of English, two teachers of German, one Geography teacher, one PE teacher and one teacher of vocational subjects They are full-time active pedagogical employees. All of them want to improve their linguistic and interpersonal skills. They take active measures to school They use their linguistic knowledge in their profedssional work and in self-improvementThe actions Preparations for the mobilities include the organisaion of a language preparatory course for no-language teachers and meetings related to exchanging information on history and traditions of a training country as well as organisation of trips and accomodation. The participants will be covered by additional insurance. The mobilities are departures to two-week language and methodical courses in Ireland, Austria and Malta.Cultural events promoting linguistic and cultural diversity and popularizing pro-European attitudes will be organised with students after returning.. Evaluation among the participants will be performed at each stage of realisation of the project. The effects of the project will be spread by reporting to the teachers' council meetings, information on a school website and a Facebook profile, articles in the press. The school authority, Powiat Kościański will be also informed about the results of the project..The project will be continued for two years from June 2016 until June 2018.The expected results The participants of the project will raise their knowledge and linguistic skills, exchange their experience with participants of the trainings from different countriesThey will be prepared better for their professional work, especially foreign language teachers, They will be able to use foreign language information sources. It will result in improving the quality of education. The results of vocational and school leaving exams gained by students will definitely be higher. Teachers will join more actively in searching foreing schools and partner institutions in order to perform another European projects School will gain better skilled employees..The place of the school on the local educational market and its Europeanization will be strengthened by spreading of the project in the press, the Internet, and the local environment. The potential long-term benefits One of them is establishing co-operation with foreign educational institutions. The other school employees will be better motivated to take part in similar projects, different kinds of trainings and European learning pathways Regular participation in EU projects will resullt in increasing the expertise of knowledge. The school experience in implementation of EU projects will become more significant ( planning, realization and management of the projects). The project work will cause improving the skills of teamwork among the participants and a sense of responsibility for the actions of the group and their results. The school will be seen as a modern and European institution whose staff is able to prepare students to enter into adult life and the work market in a proffessional way.
