Nowe perspektywy - przyszłe szanse
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Contemporary labour market is becoming more and more demanding towards its future employees who, apart from the knowledge of the given field, should possess the accurate professional skills. The conscious student is thus expecting the vocational school to prepare him well to face the needs of the local and the European labour market. In order to fulfil this task, the vocational school must adjust the contents of teaching to the requirements and needs of the market. The project “New perspectives – future chances” ideally coexists with the contemporary market requirements as it allows to develop crucial skills connected with the complex service of the domestic and foreign tourists and the complex service of the hotel guests with the use of appropriate procedures. The project responds to the needs of the European labour market by applying the European Commission's policy to combat the rising level of unemployment, particularly among young people. Implementation of the objectives of the project supports the growth of employment of the graduates in the labour market and prevents the social exclusion caused by insufficient professional preparation. Achieving the goals will be possible through the implementation of the project together with a foreign partner who will bring the real added value resulting from the exchange of knowledge, experience and mutual learning. The project will involve the participation of three groups consisting of 20 students of the 2nd classes of ZSETH in Lodz trained in the fields of the hotel industry and tourist services. Each group will participate in a 2-week work placement in institutions in Lisbon in Portugal, with the help of a partner, which is CASA DA EDUCAÇÃO. After the recruitment, qualified participants of the project will take part in the cultural and linguistic preparation in the fields of the vocational English and the basics of the Portuguese language prior to the work placements. After the end of the practice the participants will receive the Europass – Mobility document describing the qualifications and skills acquired during a foreign stay. The project will use the tools used by the European Credit system for Vocational Education and Training -ECVET. In this way, learning outcomes achieved by students in foreign companies will form the basis for further development and accumulation of subsequent developments, also after graduation.Implementation of the project, besides creating opportunities to raise the key vocational skills, will also enable the participants to find themselves in a new environment and to learn its principles, will encourage the participants to learn a foreign language and enrich their vocational vocabulary, will broaden their horizons, will contribute to the development of mobile and entrepreneurial attitudes and to creation of interpersonal peer networks. Participation in the project based on the work placements abroad will add a European dimension to the education and vocational training of young people in our school. Implementation of the project, in addition to the direct impact on its participants, will also influence the local community, including the employers. Participation of our school in the project will comply with the nationwide trend of the promotion of vocational education, which aims at combating the risks of unemployment and social exclusion. Implementation of the project will also affect the European public perception of the validity and usefulness of the international professional mobilities.
