Nová země, nová zkušenost aneb jak se vyrábí auta u sousedů
Start date: Aug 25, 2014, End date: Aug 24, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project was called "New country, new experience, or how to make cars with neighbours" and was based on the school strategy for the years 2014-2018. The main objective of the project was to create new professional competencies and enhance new ones for 23 students in the fields of electronical engineering mechanic, electrician - heavy, machinist and Autotronik. Another objective was the internationalization of students, especially the deepening of language skills and intercultural knowledge (experience and orientation in a new environment). Other goals included practical experience of the German dual system of vocational training, especially practical introduction to the system of assessment of practical activities, acquaintance with the work of instructors in the production (selection procedure for instructors, their training and motivation) and teamwork as important part of the dual education. Three partner schools from Germany from the city of Kassel took part in this project. These schools educate pupils for Volkswagen plant in Kassel (hereinafter VW Kassel). In collaboration with partner schools and this Volkswagen plant, a total of 20 students from our apprentice school (from the fields of Mechanic electrotechnician, Electrician-power installation and Metal worker) took part in a 14-day internship at Volkswagen and learning stations in these three schools. The fourth partner in this project was the AUDI AG in Ingolstadt, where three apprentices from the Autotronic field completed a longer work placement (6 weeks). From the perspective of project benefits for students and to strengthen their professional competencies, the partners were chosen so that the contents of all subjects taught would match the subjects of partner schools as much as possible with focus on the automotive industry. Internship Program was focused only on training and professional experience, which was realised in workshops and laboratories in the schools and in VW Academy (in the learning stations)or in production department of Kassel VW or Audi plants. The benefit for students was not only to acquire or enhance their professional competencies within their industry, but also improving their foreign language competency and intercultural skills. The wider impact of the project was to strengthen the position of project participants in the labour market, where pupils with foreign experience are more likely to succeed in VW, Skoda and Audi plants worldwide. Implementation of the project has also contributed to meeting the general and specific objectives of the ERASMUS + program, respectively objectives of the European Commission in the field of education and youth.
