The Association Trivium is applying for KA1 deadline of 30 April (Erasmus+Programme ) submitting a Youth Exchange project called: “Not so far”. The focus of this project is to discover the presence and the impact of Arabic culture in Mediterranean areas of Europe, from Arabic domination of past centuries to nowadays. The aim is to know deeper this culture to overcome any prejudice connected to it and produce a cultural enrichment of the participants. The youth exchange will be carried out next Winter in the city of Palermo, a place under Arabic domination from IX to XI century, which left a permanent mark in Palermitan culture, as one can clear deduce by local traditions, habits, cooking and monuments. The project is aimed at deepening the knowledge of Arabic culture and how it influenced Mediterranean and wester cultures, discovering the richness left by Arabic domination in Sicilian capital and promoting a dialogue and exchange able to overcome stereotypes and prejudices towards these cultures. The youth exchange is addressed to 25 youngest from 5 different organizations.
