Nordic-Baltic Development Days
Start date: May 31, 2015, End date: Nov 29, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Based on the experience and cooperation with the partner organizations throughout the years, we have understood that our member organizations come with various strong skills and knowledge they use in their everyday work, but at the same time, they have weaknesses that could be learned about from the other partners. Therefore, our purpose would be to create an exchange program were our partners could share their best gained knowledge and experience, where they could also learn new practical skills which they could use in their organizational development and growth. We want this to be a training course for young leaders who could go back home afterwards and use their assembled skills in the organizational work, as well as for their personal development. Our priority of this project is to strengthen and develop our existing organizations, to educate them in various skills for civil engagement and youth activism. We would also like to give the participants a whole experience of lots of fun, making new friends in fully alcohol- and tobacco-free environment. The first activity is the Activity Planning Visit (APV), where the prep-team (chosen from the partner countries), would plan the main activity. We would give a chance for anyone to apply by publishing an open call through our public media. We would include the description of skills and expertise that we are searching for within each applicant. We would create a prep-team meeting in Stockholm on February 2015 so that they could work together on building the seminar structure and planning the needed activities, education, experts and energizers for the following training. The meeting would happen over a weekend, full of intense team building, preparations and planning (of logistics and content) for the main activity. The main activity will take place in Norway in April 2015 where 24 people from 6 countries will meet and exchange best practices from their organizations in line with organizational development, team building activities, personal development, application and financial approaches along with things that will give the youngsters essential skills for their future professional life as an example rhetorics, presentation, rational thinking and learning by doing principles. Despite the great potential we have and are going to use from the participating organizations, we will also invite few experts to talk about recruitment, branding, sending a message for a social change and similar issues that came up as a need from our member organizations. All activities will be conducted using creative non-formal methodology, in a fully alcohol- and tobacco-free environment. The participants will be multipliers to their own organizations, since we expect them to share their knowledge in their home organizations, and to increase the international cooperation between each other.
