Project objectives - and background: The main objective of the project was the active involvement of our volunteers in the process of developing a relevant connection between East and West; Germany and Poland. To this end they worked within a varied capacity at Scloss bröllin eV. Regionally, we are located near the Polish border where we share many years of experience with our Polish partners and with whom we work to counter time and again reservations and preconceptions amongst our two regions. Number / countries Our 4 volunteers from the countries: Romania, Netherlands and Spain have had the opportunity to learn more from our international operations, the different cultures, artists and young people from all European countries. One of the main goals of the project was to experience the varied cultural and social conditions in the various countries of Europe, with which we are confronted in our everyday work. Work areas / activities: From the moment they arrived our volunteers have improved their independence of character, ability to work autonomously as well as sociability and team spirit. Specific areas of work were: event and / or cultural management (organization, management, PR / Public Relations, Fundraising, exhibition assistant, guest relations), theater education, experiential education. In the manual work area skills were also be attained and improved. Here one was getting involved in areas ranging from Light and Sound Tech in our performance venues , cooking, landscaping, construction and design as well as event technology. In our farmlette we have an open learning eviroment. Our large greenhouse and acreage provided an area for planting, growing and harvesting of fruit and vegetables. Knowledge were acquired during the pruning and care of fruit trees and the preserving of thier crops for winter months. While staying the volunteers learned from various and diverse people from all over the world and came to know and worked with them. Experience has shown they developed a sense of tolerance and understanding of differences through this exchange. Working methods: a say in all matters with equal speaking time in the workshops and particularly working in small groups brainstorming. Effects / benefits To enrich effectively through their active involvment in the work and the accompanying exchange with the people here, our region and helped to actively counter existing prejudices.
