Title: No hate-createContext: As Thorbjørn Jagland, Secretary General of the Council of Europe stated: “Hate speech has become one of the most common forms of intolerance and xenophobia in Europe today. Of particular concern is (...) how it has become commonplace in the public sphere”. Throughout Europe many organizations, including NGOs are enriching their regular activities with anti-discriminative actions, alarmed by the globally conducted researches on raise of hate speech and hate crimes. We want to take an active part in the process of combating hate speech mostly through educational activities. It is extremely important for us to raise awareness about the problem and to equip participants with competences enabling them to combat hate speech and to learn about factual communication, based on empathy and mutual understanding. In 2015 we have been one of seven organizations conducting and cooperating international annual project “Combating hate speech through European perspective”. Now, we want share our good practice with youth leaders and youth workers, exchange ideas and experience, as well as provide them competences on topic to be spread in their countries. The multilateral composition of the group will give participants the chance to meet potential partners, so that concrete local, national or international projects, activities can be planned within TC.Aim: Empower youth leaders/workers with competences and the practical tools/strategies to combat hate speech in their youth work and strenghten and improve international cooperation and capacities of NGOs involved. Objectives:•16 youth workers will recognize hate speech, its examples, reasons and both short- and longterm consequences •16 participants will obtain competences (K-S-A) and practical tools to tackle discrimination, hate speech (“offline” & online) in their youth work (in YE, regular workshops, workcamps) • 16 youth workers will become Anti-discrimination Education multipliers in the benefit of youth affected by Human Rights violations, intolerance and hatred in their communities (reaching min. 40 youth)• To improve and strengthen international cooperation between involved youth workers and NGOs• To learn about possibilities to further cooperation in the frame of Erasmus + project (other key actions)• To empower pax in developing and implementing their ideas for multiplying events in the field of anti-discrimination and tolerance raising• To acquire a deeper understanding of discrimination in all its forms to prevent, recognize it in daily youth activismTarget group (profile of candidates): This project will involve 16 (4 per country) youth workers, NGO representatives, volunteers and trainers who are willing to share their own experiences on the topic, ready to get involved in self-directed learning process. The participants of this project will be willing to motivate youth they are working with to take further steps in combating hate speech and raising tolerance and empathy. Participants are expected to be interested in the topic or to be victims/witnesses of hate speech/hate crime, willing to enrich their competences to combat it. Project will engage as well, participants with fewer opportunities on the terms of facing social or economic obstacles to be involved. Age: 18+ All the participants who will successfully participate in the project will have the chance to obtain Youthpass Certificate. Methodology: The methodology of the training course will be based on NFE methods: • using manuals such as: Bookmars – A manual for combating hate speech online through human rights education, Compass, T-Kit-Social Inclusion, etc. • using methods, such as: ice-breakers, energizers, group/pair work, association game, fish bowl, debate, case studies, drama, simulation, brainstorming, discussions, intercultural and experimental learning, range of (audio)visuals for thematic input. Results/impact:- increased level of key competences and improvement of participation in democratic life in Europe of participants, - better recognition and understanding of intercultural dialogue based on non-agressive communication, social inclusion and solidarity through increased learning mobility opportunities for young people, those active in youth work or youth organisations - higher level of tolerance, mutual understanding, non-agressive communication among European societies- raise of the quality of youth work, thanks to long-term, well-planned cooperation between trustworthy organisations- complementation of policy reforms related to antidiscrimintaive education, recognizing and sanctioning hate crimes at local, regional and national level - future cooperation (broader and more quality exchange of good practice) of various Polish and European NGOs with similar statut to combine common efforts in combating hate speech/discrimination.- raise of number of antidscirminative actions as a as a joint work of group of European organizations
