New Lifestyles - Changing Traditions
Start date: Jan 1, 2016, End date: Jul 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

At the beginning of April 2016 around 60 young people from 11 nations will meet in the Educational Youth Center Berchum and will work on the topic : "New Lifestyles - Changing Traditions". The young people come from the groups who are part of the international "East-West-East" network, which has set itself the goal of improving the contacts between youngsters from Eastern and Western Europe. They come from Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Georgia, Moldova, Poland, Spain, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Youngsters are looking for their own identity among different lifestyles because they become aware of the fact that the lifestyle of their parents are no longer eligible and appropriate for them. Gender relations, media consumption, waste of resources also in their own alimentation, a multiethnic and multicultural society and lack of career prospects make it necessary to look for other ways of doing things. The participants should work on these subjects in the workshops and than present them to the rest of the group. At the same time they will be able learn the methods of non-formal learning. It is important that it comes to an exchange between young people who come from very different life situations and will probably need to find distinctive solutions. The participants will publish the project results on the Facebook page of the network, this way making them generally visible. Further , they will take their ideas to their communities and spread them in their peer groups.
