New Learning Environments for an Innovative Management in Transport and Logistic sector

The specific objective of the NEO-TRAN Project is to provide senior SME managers in the goods transport and logistics industry with a strategic framework for analysing the actual performance of their companies in a new economy based on knowledge. It also addresses ways of improving the benefits of integrating and applying information and communication technologies.The SMEs in the goods transport and logistics industries are at a disadvantage in the knowledge age. In this regard, the training package for the NEOTRAN project will provide them with the assistance needed to understand how to adapt to the new economy and to adopt and integrate new technologies into their daily activities. They will therefore be able to identify and take advantage of new opportunities that the enlarged EU offers, whereby improving their competitiveness.More specifically, the training package for the NEO-TRAN Project is going to provide senior SME managers in this industry with a series of self-diagnosis tools that will allow them to evaluate both the internal and external factors involved in corporate innovation in the goods transport and logistics industries.The training package will therefore take specific aspects into account such as the following: el impact of an economy based on knowledge in the transport industry; corporate cooperation; organisational development; introduction and usage of ICT; and entering into Eastern European countries.In this way, the NEO-TRAN Project aims to provide specific solutions with respect to the priorities set forth by the Directorate General for Energy and Transport, by promoting innovation within the corporate structure as well as improving security, efficiency and the cost-effectiveness ratio for SMEs in the goods transport and logistics industry.
