New learning environment for Very Small Enterprises : learning, exploring and sharing
Start date: Jan 1, 2014,

In the EU more than 99% are SME and over 90% of them are Very Small Enterprises (less than 10 employees). VSE constitute more than 30% of the potential job market. The fewer is the number of employees in a given VSE, the more functions are assigned to them, and as the priority is generally given to production/commercialization, the entrepreneurs and their staff do not take the necessary time to participate in training, do not validate their skills and knowledge, and ignore ICT tools that could improve their competitiveness. VSE do not participate regularly in continuing education which can be justified by the lack of flexible and demand-driven offers available. VSE demand for individual, just-in-time, uncomplicated and cheap training solutions. Besides, a greater proximity and cooperation opportunities between small businesses is doubtless a valuable factor for VSE and can enhance their participation in continuous training. The aim of this project is to develop a user-friendly environment for training VSE, while enhancing collaboration and knowledge exchange among the participants. The pedagogical model will be based on byte-size modules (duration defined in minutes) focusing mainly on Communication related subjects. The courses will integrate ECVET as qualification framework. The activities to be proposed to VSE will focus on the use of acquired skills at the working place (EQARF indicator 6) with the objective of having VSE producing contents to be shared with their peers through a collaborative network. The e-learning platform will be available at local and European level. The project expects to reach directly about 80 VSE (meaning a higher number of individuals - entrepreneurs and staff) and indirectly more than 750 VSE, setting up the conditions for a successful replication of the model. The project gathers 8 partners from France, Portugal, Sweden, United Kingdom, Nederland, Lithuania, Greece and Germany.
