New Ideas
Start date: Aug 1, 2016, End date: Jul 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Youth Exchange "New Ideas" will bring together 40 young participants from 5 different European countries to compare their perspectives and visions related to the topic of unemployment and employability today. We believe that unemployment among young people remains a serious problem within the European Union which causes many negative consequences in social, economic, political and individual. If the European statistics is observed, in fact, we can see that unemployment among young people is about two times higher than the unemployment rate of the overall population, which is one of the causes of the economic crisis we face. This exchange will aim to make young people think about the causes of this high rate of unemployment, that could change there individually in order to increase his own chances of employability in the future. Participants will come from different countries (France, Poland, Estonia, Lithuania and Macedonia) with different economic situations, which will be very interesting because we can observe and analyze the phenomenon in different European perspectives. The overall objective of the youth exchange is to inspire young people, encourage them to think seriously about their employability and to emphasize the importance of developing its own core competencies to succeed in the labor market more complex. The Youth Exchange must also develop the skill of entrepreneurship participants and strengthen their sense of initiative. We will show that entrepreneurship can be a way out of unemployment and entrepreneurship, which is often of great importance in almost all jobs, even as an employee. The methodology of the Youth Exchange will include various activities, such as plenary sessions and individual discussions, the methodology of open space, simulation games, participatory exercises and individual presentations. The main feature of the program is an innovative simulation for which young people will come with their own business ideas or initiatives, developing together, the present and then realize the implementation of a small part of them. The program will develop a number of key skills of participants. We will also focus on the recognition of non-formal education through various tools that young people are aware of what they have learned and apply to the present has these skills to others (for such as during a job interview). In addition, the youth exchange will also be a unique opportunity to learn about other cultures and other European countries to make new friends all over Europe, to discover European cultural diversity and to develop the European spirit, which for us is of great importance, especially nowadays with the current tensions we know.
