The "New Dimension" project is a new dimension of international activities of Public Library in Malbork and Kindergarten in Gardeja. In the frame of the activity, we want to organize a 12 month EVS project of a French volunteers Lea Dechamps-Gervais in the library, and Romanian volunteer Medeea Dragan in kindergarten. Coordinating organization of all these activities is the Akwedukt Association in Kwidzyn, Poland.Volunteers will support the daily work of Kindergarten and Library in language animation, non-formal activities in work with children and young people, cultural events (Gardeja Day, Siege of Malbork, Days of Volunteering, etc.). Beside that, they will plan, implement and evaluate their own personal projects for selected groups - what is the one of the most important part if this project.The basic objective of the project is to go up against such problems as poor knowledge of foreign languages and xenophobia in local communities of Malbork and small village Gardeja. Through the project, the volunteers want first of all to gain work experience and in the safety space to learning, to acquire different competencies such as: work with children and youth, create plans for working with children and young people, creative methods of working (drama, competitions, travel caffes etc). Also they learn how ar working educational institutions in Poland.In the long term volunteers will have higher professional qualifications, will know the unique Polish language, what will influence on faster finding the job. Local communities will overcome their fears towards foreigners. Children and youth will better know a foreign language. Young people over 18 years old will take part in various mobilities, ie. EVS and international exchanges.
